Stiff or sore in more than one place?A doctor can check if TB4 may help your body repair all of them.

TB4 is thymosin beta-4, a repair protein your body already makes to move repair cells to where they are needed. Clarve’s TB4 is the whole protein, all 43 parts, not the short 7-part piece sold online as TB-500. New to peptides? Read what they are first.

By law, only a doctor can decide if TB4 is right for you.

Not sure yet? Ask us a question about TB4

This is for you if any of these sound like you.

A doctor still checks that TB4 suits you before anything is prescribed.

  • You are stiff or sore in more than one place, like your shoulders, back and knees
  • You have a muscle or tendon injury that stopped getting better
  • You train hard, and your body takes longer to recover than it used to
  • You tried rest, physio and anti-inflammatories, and it still hasn’t gone away
  • You already have one sore spot you want looked at, and now other places hurt too
  • You want a doctor to check you first, not a vial from someone at the gym

Not your problem? See every therapy we offer

Here is how you get TB4 legally, in 3 steps.

  1. 1

    Answer a few questions

It takes 60 seconds, so the doctor knows your injury and your health before the call.

  2. 2

Pay R99 and a doctor phones you

A registered South African doctor usually phones within 30 minutes to talk it through with you.

  3. 3

The doctor decides if it suits you

If it does, our own licensed pharmacy makes your pen and keeps it cold all the way to your door.

What the doctor actually asks you on the call. It is a normal doctor consultation, not a sales call. Expect the doctor to go through your answers and your health history, and to decide whether a peptide is safe and right for you.

Then the doctor tells you whether a peptide suits you at all. If it does not, they say so and tell you why. Nothing is prescribed, and you pay nothing more than the R99.

A muscle or tendon that stays sore for months is tissue that never finished repairing itself. TB4 may help move those cells to where you hurt.

When you are sore in more than one place, repair cells need to reach every one of those spots. Your body makes thymosin beta-4 in almost every tissue, not just at one injury, which is why a doctor may look at TB4 when more than one place is sore.

  • It may help move repair cells to the parts of your body that hurt.
  • It may help your body grow new, tiny blood vessels, bringing more oxygen and nutrients to damaged tissue.
  • It may help damaged muscle and tendon tissue repair itself.

Clarve makes TB4 in our own licensed pharmacy in Johannesburg, from pharmaceutical-grade ingredients that are lab-tested to be at least 98% pure.

Why your shoulders, your back and your knees can all ache at the same time, and how TB4 may help your body repair all of them.

One sore tendon is one place your body has to repair. A sore shoulder, a sore lower back and a sore knee are three places at once, and every one of them is waiting for the same thing: repair cells that have to travel there through your blood.

Your body repairs damage by sending cells to it. They travel in your blood, they arrive at the damaged tissue, and they do the work. That is true of a strained tendon, a torn muscle and a cut on your arm.

Now picture three sore places at once. Each one needs those repair cells to arrive, and to stay long enough to finish the job. So a body that aches in several places is not one injury that got worse. It is three separate places your body is trying to repair at the same time, and repair cells have to reach every one of them.

Sore in several placesRepair cellsTB4 reaches every one

When more than one part of you is sore, your own repair cells have to reach every one of those places. TB4 may help move them to where you hurt.

This is where TB4 comes in. TB4 is thymosin beta-4, a repair protein your body already makes, in almost every tissue you have, not only at one injury.

A repair cell does not float to the damage. It crawls, by building a stiff scaffolding inside itself and pushing its front edge forward. Thymosin beta-4 holds the spare building blocks that scaffolding is made from, and lets them go at the front edge, exactly where the cell needs to build. Without them the cell cannot move.

A repair cell moves by building a scaffolding inside itself and pushing its front edge forward. TB4 is part of how your body controls the building blocks that scaffolding is made from.

So why a pen, and not a pill? A peptide is a chain of amino acids, and thymosin beta-4 is a long one, 43 links. Most peptides are broken apart by your stomach before your body can use them, which is why they are injected under the skin instead of swallowed.

A small injection skips your stomach, so the chain arrives whole and your doctor knows exactly what reached you and how much. That is why Clarve makes TB4 as a ready-to-use pen, never as a capsule, spray or cream.

Most peptides are broken apart by your stomach before your body can use them, which is why they are injected under the skin instead of swallowed.

TB4 may also help your body grow new, tiny blood vessels, which is how more oxygen and nutrients reach tissue that is under strain.

What is sold online as TB-500 is not the whole protein. It is a short, 7-part piece of thymosin beta-4. Clarve’s TB4 is the whole protein, all 43 parts.

What it is not: a painkiller, and not a guarantee. A registered doctor decides whether it suits you at all, and tells you straight if it does not.

TB4 is not for you if one of these is true.

  • You have an active or recent cancer diagnosis, and no clearance from your specialist
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are an athlete who gets drug-tested for your sport

Like any medicine, TB4 is not right for everyone. That is why a registered doctor reads your health history before anything is prescribed.

TB4 bought without a prescription has no doctor and no lab test behind it.

Most people in South Africa get peptides from someone at the gym, a friend or a seller on WhatsApp. Nobody checks what is inside, or whether it suits them. Compare that with a doctor and a licensed pharmacy.

I didn't think this was legal, until I read how it works.

I didn't think this could be legal, so I was sceptical. After reading the website it started to make sense. I did the quiz but didn't book straight away. Then a few emails explained how it all works, and that convinced me to book a consultation. I'm glad I did.

Get your questions about TB4 answered first.

Yes, when a registered South African doctor prescribes it and a licensed pharmacy makes it. It is not a registered medicine, so nobody can legally sell it to you without a prescription. Clarve gives you both the doctor and the licensed pharmacy.
TB4 is thymosin beta-4, a repair protein your body already makes to move repair cells where they are needed. TB4 may help those cells reach tissue under strain, and may help ease stiffness in muscles and tendons. Your doctor decides if it suits you at the R99 consult.
No. TB-500 is a short, 7-part piece of thymosin beta-4. Clarve’s TB4 is the whole protein, all 43 parts, not just a piece of it.
No, they are two different peptides with two different jobs. TB4 is about repairing damaged tissue. Thymosin Alpha-1 is about your immune system. The names look alike because both were first found in the same gland, the thymus.
No. The doctor only prescribes it if it suits your health and what you want help with. If it isn’t right for you, they will tell you exactly why and what you can do instead. You pay nothing more than the R99.
Our prices are market-related, so you’re not paying crazy extra for doing it the legal way. The doctor consult is a once-off R99. If the doctor prescribes TB4, you get the exact price before you pay anything more, and you decide then whether to go ahead.
A doctor has to prescribe it, because whether it is safe depends on your health. A registered doctor reviews your full health history to decide whether it is safe for you, and your pen is made from lab-tested, pharmaceutical-grade ingredients. If anything feels wrong during your treatment, you can contact your doctor.
For muscles and tendons, no study in people has tested it yet. That research is still in animals and in the lab. Thymosin beta-4 has been tested in people, but for other things: slow-healing skin wounds, and dry, damaged eyes. It was safe and well tolerated there, and the healing results were mixed, with some trials showing faster healing and some of the bigger ones showing no real difference from a dummy treatment. Only a doctor can look at your health and tell you whether TB4 may help you.
Nobody knows yet how quickly it may help people recover from an injury. No study in people has measured that. If a doctor prescribes it, ask them on the call what to expect.
In the human trials of thymosin beta-4 so far, the side effects reported were mild. In the skin and eye trials it was mostly irritation where it was put on. In the drip trials it was mostly headache. Those trials were small, and none of them tested the kind of pen used for recovery, so they cannot rule out effects that happen less often, and nobody knows yet what it does over many years. That is why a doctor checks your health and your other medicines first, and why you can contact your doctor during your treatment.
No study has shown that TB4 gives a healthy person cancer. The worry is about a cancer that is already there. In lab and animal studies, cancer cells that make more thymosin beta-4 spread more, and TB4 may also help grow new blood vessels, which a cancer could use as well. That is exactly why a doctor screens your history first, and why an active or recent cancer diagnosis is on our not-for-you list.
Yes. It is a small injection just under the skin, from a ready-to-use pen with a needle much thinner than the one used for a blood test. Your doctor sets how much you take and for how long at the consult, and you get clear instructions.
Only your doctor can tell you that. How much, and for how long, depends on your health and your problem, so your doctor decides it on the call, if TB4 suits you at all.
It is sold in all those forms elsewhere, but Clarve only makes it as a ready-to-use pen. A capsule will not do the job, because your stomach breaks most peptides apart before your body can use them. And with a spray or a cream from a gym or an unlicensed seller, nobody has checked what is really inside it or how much of it reaches you.
No study in people has tested that yet. The research on thymosin beta-4 and muscles, tendons and ligaments is in animals and in the lab. A doctor can tell you on the call whether it may help what is bothering you, alongside your physio’s or surgeon’s plan.
Not for smoother skin, no. The human research on skin is about wounds that will not close. In those trials thymosin beta-4 was put straight onto slow-healing sores, it was safe, and the healing results were mixed. For hair, we found no study in people showing that it grows hair. If your goal is your skin, ask the doctor about GHK-Cu as well.
No study has shown that it does either. The research looks at repairing damaged tissue, not at building muscle or burning fat. It is not a steroid, and it does not work like testosterone or growth hormone.
Yes, women can ask a doctor about TB4, for the same reasons as men, like stiffness and soreness in more than one place. It is not for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, because nobody has tested it in them.
Yes, if your doctor thinks it suits you. TB4 and BPC-157 used together is called the Wolverine Stack. TB4 may help all over your body, while BPC-157 may help at the sore spot. Your doctor decides whether you need both or whether one is enough.
If you are a drug-tested athlete, this is not for you. TB4 is on the World Anti-Doping Agency banned list at all times, and anti-doping tests can detect it. Your doctor screens for this at the consult.
No. The FDA has not approved thymosin beta-4, or the TB-500 piece of it, as a medicine. In South Africa it is legal only when a registered doctor prescribes it and a licensed pharmacy makes it for you.
No pharmacy may sell it to you over the counter. In South Africa it is only legal when a registered doctor prescribes it and a licensed pharmacy makes it for you. A shop, gym or seller who hands it over without a prescription is not doing it legally.
No. You are not allowed to order it from abroad for personal use without special permission from SAHPRA, the South African medicines regulator. Without it the order is unlawful and can be stopped at customs. Going through a South African doctor avoids all of that.
If you buy it without a prescription, you usually cannot know, because nobody has tested what is inside. With Clarve, your pen is made in our own licensed pharmacy from pharmaceutical-grade ingredients, and each ingredient is tested in a lab to check it is at least 98% pure.

You know who checked you, who made it, and what is in it.

A doctor who knows peptides

Before anything is prescribed or made, a registered South African doctor looks at your health history and what you want help with, and decides whether TB4 is safe and suitable for you. If it isn’t, they tell you why and what to do instead.

Made in Clarve’s own licensed pharmacy

Clarve has its own licensed compounding pharmacy in Johannesburg. We make your medicine to your doctor’s prescription, with your name on it, not a powder from an unlicensed seller.

Every ingredient is lab-tested

Cheap peptides from personal trainers and unlicensed sellers are often research grade, which means they were made for lab experiments, not for people. We only use pharmaceutical-grade ingredients, and each one is tested in a lab to check it is at least 98% pure before we make your pen.

One sore spot, or several? Your doctor decides which peptide fits you.

As a general guide, people ask about BPC-157 when one spot is sore, and about TB4 when several places are sore. Some people use both together.
